Ingredients
- •5 links Johnsonville Original bratwurst
- •10 tortillas flour tortillas, double-stacked
- •1 whole yellow onion, thinly sliced
- •1 can (12 oz) Shiner Bock beer
- •2 tbsp salted butter
- •1 tbsp minced garlic
- •1 tbsp avocado oil
- •2 tbsp prepared horseradish
- •2 tbsp stone ground dijon mustard
- •salt & pepper (to taste)
Steps
- Sear brats: Lightly oil a skillet with avocado oil and sear the bratwurst over medium-high heat until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- Slice onion: Thinly slice the onion into strips.
- Horseradish-dijon mix: Stir together the horseradish and stone ground dijon mustard in a small bowl to make the spread.
- Butter & garlic: In the same pan the brats were seared in, melt the butter into the drippings and stir in the minced garlic.
- Onions in: Add the sliced onion to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Sauté until softened.
- Beer deglaze: Pour in the Shiner Bock beer and let the onions simmer down until soft, sticky, and deeply caramelized.
- Warm tortillas: Warm the flour tortillas on a griddle, then double-stack two per wrap.
- Spread sauce: Spread the horseradish-dijon mixture down the center of the stacked tortillas.
- Build: Lay a seared bratwurst on the sauce and pile the beer-braised onions on top.
- Wrap: Fold the tortillas up and around the filling to close the wrap.
- Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy.
Kevin's Tip: Don't rush the onions — letting them simmer down in the beer until sticky and jammy is what makes these wraps, so give them time before you build.
